Today Jonathan and I headed over to McDonalds after school so we could pick up some food off the dollar menu. Just the fact that we went, planning on getting food off the dollar menu should raise a huge flag that we were short on money. We had a total of $7. We went through the drive-thru and ordered 1double cheese burger, 1 hot-n-spicy McChicken, 2 medium fries and 2 small cokes. The lady told us it’d be cheaper if we got the meals, so we went ahead and did that. Turns out it’s $.12 more to get the meals, but it was an honest mistake on her part. We pulled through and it turns out we’re about $.37 short. We paid with 2 dollar bills and the rest quarters, so.. it took awhile for her to count out all the change. She decided that she’d cover it, as she was saying this, the manager walked right up next to her. I don’t think it’s policy to let people go without paying the full price, so I imagine she probably got a small talking to. After I dropped Jonathan off, I felt really bad about the whole thing, so I went to the bank and got some money out. I gave her $2 to cover the $.37 that I was short, and for her troubles. In return for coming back and paying the “debt” she gave me 3 $15 off coupons to Six Flags: Fiesta Texas. Was the $2 enough, should I have done something else, or was $2 over-generous? What are your thoughts?
And in RexM Blog news, I added a favicon, so when you goto my site, look at the pretty “R” next to the url in the address bar. Yep, I made that with The Gimp. It looks like a 3 year old drew it, but oh well. Do 3 year olds know the concept of shading… I THINK NOT!
